Kite IBIS ED 8×42
The Kite Ibis ED represents about the best combination of optical performance, build quality and after-sales back up available at a mid-range price. With excellent eyerelief (17mm), field of view (7.1degrees) and minimum focusing (1.4m) this model should be near the top of the list for anyone looking for the best quality at a sub-£1000 price. The rubber armoured, fibreglass reinforced polycarbonate body is strong and light with great ergonomics thanks to the open hinge design. Supplied with strap, case, rainguard and an outstanding 30 year warranty.
The following review is taken from BestBinocularsReviews.com
“The overall shape of the body is that of a typical roof prism binocular, with the ocular lenses lining up with the objective lenses. However these new Kite Ibis ED binoculars have recently been completely redesigned and they now exhibit an “open bridge” body design, meaning that rather than one large hinge spanning the two barrels, these have two thin ones at each end.
This design can help by reducing weight and because it reveals more of the barrels, it gives you more to hold onto and thus potentially a better grip.
