1 review for Leica Trinovid HD 8×42

  1. A, Smith

These Leica Trinovid HD 8×42″ binoculars are great value for the optical experience you get, along great build quality and a bright natural view with decent colour and contrast. I have used them heavily in the last week out in the field, I cannot really fault them. Lovely ergonomics and their weight in the hand is nice as is their weight distribution. I have happily used these all day with no fatigue.

I wear glasses, the eye relief is generous. I have no need to use the diopter wheel, but if you do, then the diopter on this pair of binocular doesn’t lock, but equally is not easy to knock accidentally, so not an issue for me in the field. Focusing is smooth and slight adjustments are needed as you would expect through out the focusing range, but its effortless. Great close in focus too, better than some more expensive models. I’ve used them in heavy rain, again with no issues. Overall a very robust and well made piece of equipment, as you would expect from Leica.

I bought these from Cley Spy at Glandford last Monday 11th May, the service I received was first class. I was handed higher spec models from Zeiss and Swarovski to compare and was given plenty of time to try them out on site. No hard sell nor feeling rushed to come to a decision either. To round up then, this binocular comes recommended and should be a consideration if you want a wider field of view. Cley Spy also come recommended as a retailer, given the service I received.
