Description
The Diamondback HD is Vortex’s ‘next step-up’ from the Crossfire. This 42mm model is lightweight (618g 8×42 / 606g 10×42) for a full-sized binocular and clad in tough green rubber armour. The Diamondback HD’s have enhanced, dielectric fully multi-coated lenses, giving a bright, clear image even in low light.
The field of view is very wide (7.5 deg 8×42 / 6.3 deg 10×42) and they focus down to an excellent 1.5m. All Diamondback HD binoculars are provided with a rainguard, lens caps, strap and a rugged cordura carry case.
When the Diamondback binocular range was updated in 2016 with improved optics, dielectric prism coatings and a 10% lighter body, there was really only one way for this latest version to go – the addition of HD glass. Retaining all improvements made last time around, the use of select HD glass lens elements to deliver exceptional resolution, cut chromatic aberration and provide outstanding colour fidelity, edge-to-edge sharpness and light transmission really pushes the Diamondback’s price to performance ratio to a new level.
